Eggplant Extravaganza!

Come hungry to the depot this Saturday, August 23rd as we showcase the beautiful and versatile eggplant.  Our vendors are working overtime to whip up a selection of dishes for you to sample and enjoy. Eggplant parmesan, grilled aubergine, stuffed eggplant, baba ghanoush, mousakka and on and on.  Recipe brochures will be available to take home. Let us show you what you can do with this tastyvegetable.
 

This Saturday is Member Discount Day for 'Friends of the Ames Farmers' Market'.  All members receive 10% off of everything they buy.  You can become a 'Friend' any time you're at the market.  Simply ask a vendor.  They'll be happy to help you discover the benefits of membership!
 

Let your kids get creative while you relax, and check out our vendors' tables.  New to the market is a free children's art class led by Valerie Iverson of Curiousity, a recently opened vintage shop on Main Street.  The hour-long class begins at 9:30 am.  Children are welcome to join at any time through- out the hour.  This class is free and no registration is required. 

 Looking Ahead:  Saturday, September 6th, the Ames Farmers' Market will be holding its 2nd Annual Garage Sale at the Main Street Station.  People interested in purchasing booth space are encouraged to use the information and registration form link below.  Deadline for registration is Thursday, September 4th.
